Megapixel prototype created

Designed by artist Néill O'Dwyer, the prototype for Megapixel has now been built by revolver.

We have built a low-budget prototype of the video wall using an Arduino board and a small array of RGB LEDs.

The video files are processed using open source tools such as Processing and the Java programming language. The images are deliberately pixelated. They are broken into a grid and the colours within each box are averaged.

Announcing the re-launch of Doylescapes

revolver has completed a complete rebuild of the Doylescapes website using the Drupal content management system.

The advantages of switching to Drupal are :

1) Excellent performance in Google and other search engines.

2) Do-it-yourself website updates mean that you don't have to pay web designers to make simple text changes to your site. This can result in savings of thousands of euros.

Two digital media artists and one programmer used electronic sensors and motion-tracking techniques to drive a live video performance which took the audience on a unique journey to the roots of Afro-Cuban music.

The performance took place on Thursday April 29th 2010 as part of Project Brand New 5 in the Project Arts Centre in Dublin's Temple Bar.
